Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 for Newcastle businesses, set up properly
We've moved a lot of businesses off ageing Exchange and file servers. Done well, it removes hardware from your office and gives your team the same experience at their desk, at home and on site. Done badly, it's a week of lost email and a SharePoint nobody can find anything in.
Migrations
From on-premises Exchange, another Microsoft 365 tenant, Google Workspace or a plain old file server. We plan the cutover so mail keeps flowing, migrate historical data, and structure SharePoint and OneDrive so the folder logic your staff already know survives the move.
Licensing at the right tier
Business Basic, Standard or Premium — and when each is worth it. Business Premium includes Intune device management and Defender for Business, which is often the cheapest way to get proper endpoint security. Nobody needs E5 to use Outlook, and we'll say so.
Intune, conditional access and security
Devices enrolled and configured automatically, company data protected on personal phones, MFA and conditional access policies that block the sign-ins that shouldn't happen, and SPF/DKIM/DMARC so your domain can't be spoofed.
Teams, SharePoint and Teams Phone
Teams set up for how your business actually works, SharePoint sites with a structure people can navigate, and Teams Phone with business-grade calling through our carriage partner if you're ready to retire the old PABX.
FAQ
Questions people ask
How long does a Microsoft 365 migration take?
A typical small-business migration runs two to four weeks from planning to cutover, with most of the work happening in the background while staff keep working. The cutover itself is usually scheduled outside business hours.
Will we lose email during the move?
No. Mail flow is overlapped so messages arrive in both the old and new systems until the cutover is confirmed, and historical mail is migrated behind the scenes.
Which Microsoft 365 licence do we need?
For most businesses Business Standard or Business Premium. Premium adds Intune and Defender for Business, which matters if you manage devices or care about security. We'll map your staff to the cheapest licence that actually fits their role.
Can we keep our file server?
Yes, in a hybrid setup. Many businesses move email and collaboration to Microsoft 365 first and keep a local or hosted file server for large or specialised data.
