Questions

The things people ask before they call

Is $180 the rate for on-site visits as well?

Yes. Remote or on site, business hours, the rate is the same: $180 per hour ex GST. Travel beyond the Newcastle, Hunter, Central Coast and Sydney metro areas is agreed before we come out.

What about after hours or emergencies?

We do after-hours and emergency work. We confirm the rate with you before we start, so there's never a surprise on the invoice.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. Most clients use us ad-hoc and simply call when something needs doing. Support agreements exist for businesses that want guaranteed cover — we'll only recommend one if the numbers actually stack up for you.

How does a support agreement work?

We look at how many users and sites you have, how dependent you are on particular systems and how much support you've actually used, then price a monthly agreement against that. It gives you priority access to the team, including out of hours. If ad-hoc would be cheaper, we'll tell you.

How are projects priced?

A senior engineer scopes the work with you, then you get a written proposal with a line-item cost breakdown and milestone dates. The invoice matches the proposal unless you change the scope.

What does Next Cloud hosting cost?

Most hosted environments land between $700 and $2,000 a month depending on the number of servers, applications, users and data. We'll size it for your workload and put the figure in writing before anything moves.

Do you supply hardware and licensing?

Yes, at trade pricing through our channel partners. We prefer Lenovo for PCs and Supermicro for servers and storage, but we'll supply whatever you'd rather run.

Want a number for your situation?

Tell us how many people, how many sites and what's on your servers. We'll give you a straight answer.
