IT support
IT support Newcastle: managed or ad-hoc, from senior engineers
Day-to-day IT for businesses from five seats to a few hundred. Call, email or open a remote session and a senior engineer picks it up — the same people who built your environment, so nothing has to be explained twice.
What's covered
Everything a business runs on and nobody wants to think about until it stops:
- Windows and Linux servers, virtual hosts (VMware, XCP-ng, Hyper-V) and the storage behind them
- Desktops, laptops and mobile devices — Windows and macOS — including procurement and setup
- User onboarding and offboarding, passwords, permissions and Microsoft 365 administration
- Printers, scanners, label printers and the line-of-business software that talks to them
- Monitoring and patching, so the fixes happen before the phone call
- Backup monitoring with periodic restore tests — a green tick isn't a backup until you've restored from it
How support actually works
You ring the office or email support. It goes to an engineer, not a queue. Most issues are fixed remotely within the same session; if it needs hands on hardware we come to you, at the same $180 per hour rate. Every fix is documented in your environment's records, so the next engineer to touch it knows what changed and why.
Recurring problems get treated as problems, not tickets. If a workstation has crashed three times, we stop rebooting it and find out why.
Ad-hoc or managed?
Most clients simply call when they need us and pay by the hour. Businesses with a critical application, several sites or a lot of on-site work sometimes do better on a support agreement with defined response targets and priority access to the team — we'll run the numbers with you and say plainly which is cheaper.
Taking over from another provider
Changing IT providers is easier than most businesses expect. We document what's there, take control of the domain, licences, admin credentials and backups in your name, verify that the backups actually restore, and only then start changing things. Your old provider's contract terms are the only thing that can slow it down.
FAQ
Questions people ask
What's your response time?
During business hours (8am–5pm AEST, Mon–Fri) calls go to an engineer, and outages that stop people working take priority over everything else. We don't publish an SLA for ad-hoc clients that we couldn't honestly keep; support agreements include defined response targets.
Do you support Macs and Linux as well as Windows?
Yes. We support Windows, macOS and Linux desktops and servers, and our engineers hold Microsoft, Red Hat (RHCE) and VMware certifications.
Can you take over from our current IT provider?
Yes, and it's usually straightforward: we document your environment, move domains, licences, admin accounts and backups into your name, verify the backups restore, then start improving things. Everything stays owned by you.
Do we need to be in Newcastle?
No. Remote support works anywhere in Australia. On-site work is routine across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter, the Central Coast and Sydney, and scheduled in Perth.
